Senior Audit Associate – Wellington

About the role

EY is looking for a Senior Audit Associate to join its Wellington office. You will work with the data transformation team to design and deliver innovative, digital audit solutions while maintaining high‑quality assurance for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate audit engagements, assessing audit risk and ensuring compliance with EY policies and protocols.
• Execute audit procedures with a deep understanding of the client’s operating environment.
• Collaborate with the data transformation team to automate and digitalise audit stages, creating custom audit tools.
• Lead the preparation of audit documentation, reports, and client communications.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of audit methodology, documentation standards and external audit processes.
• Experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements.
• Proven ability to lead audit planning, execution and reporting.
• Degree and/or progress toward a recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Familiarity with IFRS accounting framework and related financial reporting matters.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and client‑relationship skills.
• Demonstrated project‑management experience, especially in time management and stakeholder communication.
