Senior Assurance Advisor

About the role

Northpower is seeking a Senior Assurance Advisor to strengthen its risk and assurance frameworks. You will provide independent, objective assurance over key controls, including health, safety, quality and environmental (HSQE) risks, and partner with business units to drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Northpower’s assurance framework, tools and methodologies.
• Support enterprise risk management, especially HSQE risk oversight.
• Plan and execute risk‑based assurance reviews and audits, evaluating design and operating effectiveness of controls.
• Analyse operational and financial data to spot trends, anomalies and emerging risks.
• Coordinate third‑party assurance activities and ensure alignment with internal standards.
• Prepare concise, insightful reports for senior leaders and governance forums.
• Provide independent advice on control effectiveness and challenge weaknesses constructively.
• Promote a proactive risk‑management culture and safe work practices.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in assurance, audit, risk or compliance within complex organisations.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver end‑to‑end assurance engagements.
• Strong analytical, investigative and research capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge practices constructively.
