Senior Associate – Risk Management & Independence

About the role

As a Senior Associate in the Risk Management and Independence (RM&I) team, you will help PwC New Zealand comply with laws, regulations and professional standards. You will work closely with local and global teams, applying strong communication and attention to detail to support the firm’s risk and independence framework.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day guidance and support on RM&I tools, processes and compliance requirements.
• Assist with testing, rollout and continuous improvement of global RM&I tools and systems across PwC New Zealand.
• Review compliance activities and support quality‑assurance processes to ensure regulatory and internal policy requirements are met.
• Prepare clear communications, training materials and presentations to educate staff on compliance processes.
• Resolve queries, assist with independence matters and maintain evidence for the firm’s Quality Management System.

Required profile

• Approximately 4 years of experience in risk management, independence, compliance or a related field within professional services or financial services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive, self‑driven and able to manage competing priorities.
