Senior Architect – Immersive Experiences (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Wētā Workshop is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the design and technical delivery of immersive, themed‑entertainment projects. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers the chance to turn imaginative concepts into built environments that transport audiences worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process from early concept through construction.
• Run structured design processes in line with recognised frameworks such as RIBA, AIA and NZIA.
• Collaborate closely with clients, creatives and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal design outcomes.
• Oversee technical delivery and construction administration.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the architectural design team.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of architectural experience in large‑scale commercial design.
• Proven ability to lead projects through all design and delivery phases.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience managing recognised design processes.
• Capability to mentor junior staff.
• Relevant architectural qualification and professional registration.
