Senior Android Developer

About the role

As a Senior Android Developer you will lead the design, development and continuous improvement of MetService’s Android applications. You will collaborate closely with backend engineers, designers and product managers to deliver high‑quality, performant and resilient mobile experiences used daily by New Zealanders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance secure, high‑quality Android features using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
• Partner with backend engineers, designers, product managers and testers to deliver resilient mobile experiences.
• Shape Android engineering standards, mentor other developers and improve the way we build and operate our apps.

Required profile

• Deep experience building native Android apps with Kotlin and modern architecture patterns.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively across disciplines.
• Commitment to quality, accessibility and performance, and a passion for contributing to a collaborative engineering culture.
