Senior Analyst – Merchant MIS (SQL/BI)

About the role

ANZ is looking for a Senior Analyst to join the Merchant MIS team within the Product Centre of Excellence. The role focuses on supporting regulatory reporting, optimizing merchant pricing models and delivering data‑driven insights for the Merchant Business Solutions area.

Key responsibilities

• Review, implement and test regulatory and scheme compliance changes related to merchant pricing.
• Provide data and insights to support regulatory engagement and internal stakeholders.
• Own and operate SQL Server databases, delivering regular merchant‑business reporting.
• Support business units with data‑driven decision making and analytical insights.
• Create efficiencies through automation and streamline reporting processes.
• Generate analysis on customer insights, costs, benefits and risks.
• Proactively manage risk by adhering to strong data development principles.

Required profile

• Strong experience with SQL and SQL Server Management Studio; SSIS, SSRS and SSAS preferred.
• Advanced SQL skills for implementing business rules and pricing logic.
• Proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with Teradata or SAS (nice to have).
• Knowledge of merchant acquiring products, interchange, payment systems and scheme compliance is a plus.
• End‑to‑end reporting delivery experience.
• Experience creating visualisations with Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a proactive learning mindset.
