Senior Advisor – Property Procurement

About the role

The Senior Advisor joins the Property Procurement team within the Ministry of Justice in Wellington. You will lead procurement and commercial activities across a diverse portfolio of property and security projects, helping the Ministry deliver its Business Plan priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement processes for property and security initiatives.
• Provide commercial and procurement advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop procurement strategies, tender documentation and manage sourcing activities.
• Facilitate procurement evaluations and lead contract negotiations.
• Support contract establishment, governance and ongoing management.
• Contribute to strategic procurement initiatives and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading procurement for construction, infrastructure or property projects.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand construction delivery models and contract forms.
• Understanding of the All‑of‑Government Consultancy Services Panel.
• Experience managing full sourcing cycles, from tender development to contract negotiation.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to provide pragmatic, risk‑based commercial advice.
