Senior Advisor – Communications Change & Engagement

About the role

Te Au Reka is a nation‑wide programme transforming access to justice in New Zealand. As a Senior Advisor, Communications (Change and Engagement) you will lead the design and delivery of clear, audience‑centred communications that help staff and stakeholders understand, prepare for, and adopt new digital case‑management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute end‑to‑end change communications plans aligned with programme milestones.
• Create and maintain consistent messaging frameworks that drive understanding, readiness and adoption.
• Translate complex technical and programme information into concise, audience‑focused communications.
• Produce high‑quality materials such as staff updates, leader briefing packs, FAQs, intranet content, and engagement collateral.
• Partner with work‑stream leaders and senior executives to shape narratives and provide trusted advice on change communication.
• Support external stakeholders and peak bodies (e.g., New Zealand Law Society) to disseminate articles and content through their networks.
• Provide leaders with talking points, presentations and other communication tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic communications and change engagement, preferably in a public‑sector or justice‑related context.
• Ability to move confidently from strategy through to execution, delivering tangible communication products.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills, with experience partnering with senior leaders and external organisations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting clear, compelling narratives.
