Security Technician – Electronic Systems Installation

About the role

Aotea Security is seeking a motivated Security Technician to join our Hawkes Bay team. You will be responsible for installing and commissioning electronic security solutions for a range of high‑profile clients across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission access control, intruder detection and CCTV systems on client sites.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting and documentation to ensure successful hand‑over.
• Collaborate with project managers and client representatives to meet project timelines.
• Provide on‑site support and maintenance as required.

Required profile

• 1‑5+ years of experience in the electronic security industry.
• Eligibility to obtain required security credentials in New Zealand.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

Required skills

• Experience with Gallagher, Tecom, Integriti or Protege access‑control systems.
• Proficiency in CCTV platforms such as Milestone, Avigilon or Genetec.
• Solid understanding of IT systems and networking.
• Knowledge of Electronic Security Level 3 (preferred, assistance provided).
