Security Analyst (SOC)

About the role

CyberCX is seeking a hands‑on Security Analyst to join its Security Operations team in New Zealand. The role will involve working closely with seasoned analysts and engineers to detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats for a range of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security events using SIEM platforms, perform event analysis and triage incidents.
• Coordinate and support incident response activities, including communication with stakeholders.
• Conduct threat‑hunting and vulnerability‑assessment exercises to uncover hidden risks.
• Develop, tune and maintain detections, alerts and security use‑cases.
• Provide operational support for customer and internal security platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to drive continuous security improvements.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to process enhancements.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) or incident response role.
• Practical experience with SIEM tools and other security monitoring solutions.
• Understanding of incident response workflows and threat analysis.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency (preferred) and ability to obtain a government security clearance.
