SAP Functional Lead

About the role

ASB is seeking an experienced SAP Functional Lead to drive functional design and delivery for its Transactional Banking platform. This senior, hands‑on position will support a large‑scale core banking transformation, working closely with delivery squads, architects, business stakeholders and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Customer Experience owners, Business Analysts and squads to shape requirements, epics, features and user stories.
• Lead functional design for SAP Transactional Banking (TRBK), ensuring compliance with business needs, regulatory controls and SAP best practice.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors and partners to deliver high‑quality SAP solutions.
• Produce and review solution designs, secure approvals, and support system build, testing and delivery.
• Promote clean‑core SAP implementations and support audit and assurance activities.
• Provide functional leadership, coaching and mentoring to SAP Functional team members.
• Drive continuous improvement of customer and banker journeys using standard SAP and BTP out‑of‑the‑box functionality.

Required profile

• Significant experience in SAP functional design, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and clean‑core principles.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
