Salesforce Technical Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Salesforce Technical Lead to deliver critical applications for a public sector client in New Zealand. The role will oversee multiple Salesforce products, ensuring high‑quality, continuous delivery and supporting the Deloitte Salesforce team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and tailor delivery approaches for large‑scale Salesforce applications, managing continuous delivery and multiple production deployments.
• Identify and implement technical and delivery improvements to increase efficiency and customer outcomes.
• Provide strategic direction and support to delivery leads, functional work‑stream leads and stakeholders, managing expectations, risks, issues and change.
• Act as the primary contact for clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment, new opportunities and change‑management tasks.
• Lead project and status meetings, offering guidance to both on‑shore and offshore functional and technical teams.
• Support rapid resolution of incidents affecting critical production systems.
• Continuously develop the capabilities of the Deloitte Salesforce practice.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience as a Salesforce Consultant, Principal or Architect.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience building and motivating teams.
• Track record of driving efficiencies and improving outputs in large‑scale operational environments.
• Experience leading product‑centric teams delivering continuous delivery for business‑critical applications.
• Strong understanding of delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches.
• Subject‑matter expertise in Sales, Service and Marketing clouds and best‑practice processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation and structured problem‑solving skills.
