Sales Representative – Stainless Steel & Aluminium

About the role

We are looking for a driven Sales Representative to join our Christchurch hybrid site, selling stainless steel and aluminium to a diverse B2B customer base across Canterbury and the wider South Island. This hands‑on role is target‑driven, with success measured by new business acquisition, account growth and consistent revenue performance.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across the South Island.
• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of stainless steel and aluminium customers.
• Prepare accurate quotes, costings and proposals.
• Deliver sales presentations and tailor product solutions to client needs.
• Monitor market trends, pipeline activity and upcoming projects.
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently meet targets.
• Collaborate with internal sales, processing and dispatch teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years B2B/external sales experience with a proven record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Experience in quoting, pricing and margin management.
• Strong “hunter” mindset – confident at finding and winning new business.
• Full NZ driver’s licence and current residence in NZ or a valid NZ work visa.
• Willingness to complete a pre‑employment medical and drug screen.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with CRM systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience using quoting systems.
