Safety & Resilience Advisor

About the role

Chorus is looking for a Safety & Resilience Advisor to act as a trusted partner for leaders across the organisation. You will translate safety and resilience policies into practical actions that protect our people, assets and customers while supporting the rollout of ultra‑fast fibre across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on advice to operational and people leaders on Safety & Resilience (S&R) responsibilities.
• Own end‑to‑end management of safety incidents, ensuring thorough investigations and embedding learnings.
• Collaborate with service companies and field teams to enforce safety processes and expectations.
• Support the development of a proactive safety culture, applying S&R tools and systems in real‑world settings.
• Contribute to business continuity, quality and subcontractor management initiatives (approximately 30% of the role).
• Lead capability‑building activities, resilience planning and continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Proven track record of influencing and embedding a positive health & safety culture in large, complex environments.
• Strong experience engaging operational leaders to deliver business resilience outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and uplift capability across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Pragmatic approach that balances robust processes with real‑world application.
