Risk & Controls Analyst

About the role

Centrapay is building a trusted payments platform for businesses and consumers in New Zealand and Australia. We are looking for a proactive Risk & Controls Analyst to design, test and improve our risk framework, investigate anomalies and support compliance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of Centrapay/Payap’s control framework.
• Design, test and remediate controls to close risk gaps.
• Build practical assurance approaches and lead periodic testing cycles.
• Maintain evidence and documentation for compliance activities.
• Prepare risk, controls and compliance reports; investigate data anomalies and trends.
• Support regulatory and governance reporting requirements.
• Drive automation of assurance and measurement processes.
• Assist with audits, accreditations and compliance programmes.
• Coordinate evidence collection and maintain compliance registers.
• Support security risk assessments for systems and third‑party vendors, track vulnerability remediation and facilitate risk workshops.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in risk management, information security or technology risk.
• Background in financial services or a regulated fintech environment.
• Proven ability to work with both technical and non‑technical teams and translate complex concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen eye for patterns and inconsistencies.
