About the role
Auckland Council is offering a 2‑year rotational Graduate Programme in Risk and Assurance. The programme starts on Monday 15 February 2027 and provides hands‑on experience across four core teams, helping you develop a broad understanding of council operations while contributing to the city’s future.
Key responsibilities
- Internal Audit: Support delivery of the internal audit plan, gather information and assess process and control effectiveness.
- Risk: Facilitate continuous improvement of risk management, prepare and run risk workshops and seminars.
- Integrity: Respond to integrity‑related speak‑ups, analyse information for investigations and assist with reporting.
- Insurance and Claims: Obtain information to support business‑as‑usual claims, primarily public liability claims.
Required profile
- Final‑year or recent graduate with a relevant Bachelor’s degree (Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting).
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand for more than four years without sponsorship.
- Strong written communication demonstrated through academic work related to risk and assurance.
- Ability to build authentic relationships, thrive in fast‑paced or ambiguous environments and embrace collaboration and problem‑solving.
