Retail Account Manager – New Zealand

About the role

ACCO Brands is seeking an experienced Retail Account Manager to lead growth across major New Zealand retail chains. You will own strategic relationships with national retailers, drive sales and profitability, and ensure best‑in‑class in‑store execution.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities across Grocery (Foodstuffs, Woolworths NZ) and Mass/Office (Warehouse Stationery) channels.
• Own account management and business development for a portfolio of key retail customers.
• Lead range reviews end‑to‑end, from new line submissions to post‑review execution.
• Build strategic relationships with category managers, buyers and key decision‑makers.
• Analyse retailer category strategy, shopper behaviour and channel dynamics to influence ranging, pricing and promotions.
• Monitor competitor activity to inform commercial strategy.
• Drive profitability through pricing, promotional planning and margin management.
• Achieve annual sales, revenue and margin targets.
• Partner with Trade Marketing, Product Managers and Supply Chain for planograms, displays, compliance and SIFOT.
• Transform sell‑in/sell‑out data (Nielsen, Quantium, retailer data) into insights for forecasting and performance.
• Represent ACCO at line reviews, trade shows and industry events across NZ.

Required profile

• 7+ years in Account Management with a strong record of commercial results.
• 5+ years in FMCG, with exposure to major grocery retailers or large‑format retail.
• Proven experience managing range reviews end‑to‑end against commercial and execution KPIs.
• Strong commercial acumen, comfortable owning P&L outcomes and interpreting financial data.
