Research Nurse – Dementia Prevention

About the role
An exciting opportunity exists to support the clinical research programme of the Centre for Brain Research. The Research Nurse will join a multidisciplinary Dementia Prevention Research Clinic, recruiting participants with mild cognitive decline or early-stage dementia for a longitudinal cohort study.
Key responsibilities
- Recruit and obtain informed consent from participants.
- Collect clinical data and take research samples, including phlebotomy.
- Coordinate participant set‑up, data entry, and archiving.
- Monitor study progress, report events, and ensure protocol adherence.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold research ethics.
Required profile
- Registered New Zealand practising nurse with current phlebotomy skills.
- Experienced in a clinical research environment.
- Highly organised, empathetic, and adaptable with a positive attitude.
- Confident computer literacy and experience using electronic forms and databases.

What we offer
- Full‑time (37.5 hrs/week) fixed‑term contract up to 12 months, with possible extension.
- Salary range NZ$78,601 – NZ$99,400 per year, based on experience.
- Flexible employment practices and up to 6.75% superannuation.
