Renewable Construction Contracts Manager (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are looking for a Renewable Construction Contracts Manager to lead the contractual side of our renewable energy projects for a 12‑month fixed‑term. You will work closely with project teams to ensure contracts are drafted, negotiated and delivered efficiently, supporting Meridian’s mission to power New Zealand with clean energy.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and manage key construction contracts for wind, hydro and solar projects.
• Lead procurement for major work packages, including tender preparation, evaluation and contract award.
• Coordinate across civil, electrical and equipment workstreams to ensure seamless interface delivery.
• Maintain strong commercial relationships with contractors and suppliers throughout project execution.
• Contribute to contract strategy, risk management and performance frameworks to achieve project outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing construction contracts on complex infrastructure or energy projects.
• Strong commercial and negotiation abilities with a focus on balancing risk and value.
• Understanding of the renewable energy or large‑scale construction sector (NZ experience a plus).
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence and build trust across teams.
• Clear communicator with sound judgement, able to identify and resolve issues early.
