Relationship Associate

About the role

As a Relationship Associate in ANZ’s Agri team within Business Banking, you will support Relationship Managers in delivering seamless banking solutions to commercial and small‑business customers across the Southland region. The role offers the chance to develop credit analysis and relationship‑management capabilities, with the potential to receive a small credit‑approval delegation and manage a portfolio of accounts after 12 months.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to customers, understand their business requirements and ensure they feel valued.
• Analyse customer portfolios to identify size, objectives, challenges and value‑proposition opportunities.
• Stay informed on industry trends and market dynamics to strengthen the bank’s profile.
• Manage a small client portfolio when delegated by senior management.
• Collaborate closely with Relationship Managers, Senior Managers and product partners to deliver tailored solutions.
• Drive customer satisfaction by providing thoughtful interactions and value‑added insights.
• Use customer feedback to improve experience and support business retention.
• Take a proactive approach to personal development while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
