Regulatory Affairs Manager

About the role
The Regulatory Affairs Manager will sit at the centre of Southern Cross Health Insurance’s regulatory function, linking external regulator expectations with internal business actions. You will work closely with regulators such as the FMA and RBNZ and support the organisation in anticipating and responding to legislative change.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between regulators (FMA, RBNZ) and internal business units.
- Conduct proactive horizon scanning of legislative and regulatory developments.
- Draft responses to regulatory consultations and provide advice to project teams and Line 1 during change‑risk assessments.
- Compile regulatory horizon reports for senior leadership, the Board and executive governance forums.
- Maintain the regulator engagement register.
- Design guidance documents and training modules to embed regulatory compliance across the organisation.
Required profile
- Strong analytical and research abilities to interpret legislative changes.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with both internal stakeholders and external regulators.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, lean team and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on anticipating regulatory impact.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
