Registered/Enrolled Nurse – Operating Theatre

About the role

We are looking for Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join the Operating Theatre team at Braemar Hospital in Hamilton. The role involves providing high‑quality nursing care in a fast‑paced surgical environment across a range of specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for a variety of surgeries, including cardiothoracic, orthopaedics, spinal, general, paediatric, urology, plastics, maxillofacial, ENT, dental, vascular and gynaecology procedures.
• Assist the surgical team throughout operations, ensuring patient safety and adherence to infection‑prevention protocols.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Lead and multidisciplinary team to maintain theatre standards.
• Participate in the use of advanced equipment such as the da Vinci Xi surgical robot.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse (RN or EN) in New Zealand.
• Experience working in an operating theatre, preferably within one of the listed specialties.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and quality improvement.
• Willingness to engage in infection‑prevention initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the da Vinci Xi surgical robot (or similar robotic surgery systems).
