Registered Nurse – Theatre (Full‑time)

About the role

Mercy Hospital Dunedin is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join its busy theatre department. This permanent, full‑time role works on a rotating Monday‑to‑Friday roster, covering end‑of‑day shifts of up to 10 hours.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, evidence‑based nursing care to patients in the theatre.
• Deliver care in line with Mercy Hospital’s shared purpose, values and the Domains of Competence for Registered Nurses.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, handling multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a theatre (operating‑room) environment.
• Registration or enrolment with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current practising certificate.
• Willingness to provide vaccination history as required by Mercy Hospital.

• Computer literacy.
