Registered Nurse – Telehealth Helpline

About the role

PlunketLine operates a free 24/7 telehealth helpline for families with children under five. As a Registered Nurse you will use your clinical expertise to answer parenting and health queries, providing advice and support to callers across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls 24/7, covering mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Assess callers' health concerns using clinical judgement and nursing protocols.
• Provide evidence‑based advice on topics such as nutrition, sleep, illness, injuries and emergencies.
• Document interactions accurately in the call‑centre system.
• Escalate complex cases to Clinical Leaders when required.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse in New Zealand.
• Experience in paediatrics, emergency or urgent care.
• Strong listening and assessment skills with a compassionate approach.
• Resilience to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Suitable home workspace with fast‑fibre internet and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and comfort working with multiple software systems.
