About the role
We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our supportive Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) team at Mercy Hospital in Dunedin. The PACU cares for patients following a range of surgical specialties, including cardiothoracic, general, neurosurgery, orthopaedic and more.
Key responsibilities
- Provide optimum patient care in line with Mercy Hospital’s purpose and values.
- Practice according to the Domains of Competence for the Registered Nurse.
- Work as part of a team, handling multiple tasks safely and effectively.
- Maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate.
Required profile
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid practising certificate.
- Previous experience in a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) environment.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good computer literacy.
- Self‑motivation, willingness to continually improve nursing skills and knowledge.
- Professional, proactive and flexible attitude.
