Registered Nurse – Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU)

About the role

Mercy Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses to join its Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) team. The PACU provides recovery care for patients undergoing a wide range of surgeries, including cardiothoracic, general, neurosurgery, orthopaedic and more.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver optimum patient care in line with Mercy Hospital’s purpose and values.
• Practice according to the Domains of Competence for Registered Nurses.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and manage multiple tasks safely and effectively.
• Maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a PACU environment.
• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current practising certificate.
• Effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
• High self‑motivation, professionalism and a proactive, flexible approach.
• Vaccination history will be required for employment.

• Computer literacy.
