Registered Nurse – Night Shift

About the role

Summerset Palms is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its night‑shift team. You will provide high‑quality aged‑care nursing to residents who often call the village home for many years, focusing on their wellbeing and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residents’ daily clinical needs, including end‑of‑life care.
• Develop and follow long‑term care plans and conduct clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre during assigned night shifts and make appropriate clinical decisions.
• Deliver planned nursing care, evaluate progress with residents and families, and adjust care as needed.
• Provide guidance to caregivers on shift and build trusted relationships with residents and families.

Required profile

• Current NZ Registered Nurse qualification with a practising certificate.
• Genuine interest in working with older people in a retirement‑village setting.
• Ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and demonstrate emotional resilience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse residents, families and colleagues.
