Registered Nurse – Inpatient Ward (Permanent, Part‑Time/Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Tui Inpatient Ward at Braemar Hospital in Hamilton. The position is permanent and can be taken as part‑time or full‑time, providing pre‑ and post‑operative care across a range of surgical specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to patients before and after surgery in General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and Vascular units.
• Monitor patient vital signs, manage dressings, administer medications and support recovery pathways.
• Collaborate with surgeons, allied health professionals and the charge nurse to ensure safe, patient‑centred outcomes.
• Document care accurately and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse in New Zealand.
• Experience in surgical or acute care settings is preferred.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient‑focused care.
• Ability to work flexibly within a team‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• Pre‑operative assessment and preparation.
• Post‑operative monitoring and wound care.
• Medication administration and IV therapy.
