Registered Nurse – Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

About the role

Palms Lifecare is seeking a Registered Nurse for a fixed‑term maternity‑leave cover from August 2026 to April 2027. This full‑time position (32 hours + per week) involves rotating AM, PM, night and weekend shifts in a modern 118‑bed care home and village located in South Auckland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of dedicated caregivers to deliver high‑quality care.
• Develop, monitor and update individual care plans for residents.
• Conduct clinical assessments and ensure accurate documentation.
• Build lasting relationships with residents, families and general practitioners.
• Support Clinical Services and Care Home Managers in daily operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand or overseas.
• Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) in good standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Genuine passion for caring, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Awareness of health and safety procedures in a care‑home environment.
