Registered Nurse – Fixed Term (Aged Care)

About the role

As a Registered Nurse at Summerset’s Dunedin village, you will deliver high-quality aged-care nursing to residents, focusing on their quality of life and resident-directed care.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residents’ everyday needs, from clinical care to end-of-life support.
• Create and follow long-term care plans and conduct clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre on designated shifts, making appropriate clinical decisions.
• Deliver planned nursing care, evaluate progress with residents and families, and enhance daily living.
• Provide guidance and direction to caregivers on shift.
• Build trusted relationships with residents and their families.

Required profile

• Current NZ nursing registration and practising certificate.
• Genuine interest in working with older people in a retirement village setting.
• Ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with residents, families and colleagues.

Required skills

• Clinical nursing skills for aged care.
