Registered Nurse – Community Health (Jack’s Point, Queenstown)

About the role

Plunket is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its community team in the Jack’s Point area of Queenstown. This permanent 0.6 FTE position works three days a week (Tuesday‑Thursday) and focuses on supporting newborns and their families through home visits and clinic appointments.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the growth, development and health of infants (pēpi) and provide clinical advice to families.
• Conduct scheduled home visits and clinic consultations across the region.
• Build trusting relationships with whānau, offering both clinical and social support.
• Collaborate with other health and social services to ensure safe, healthy homes for children.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Participate in a 6‑12‑week orientation program with ongoing preceptor support.

• Resourceful and resilient, able to adapt to a variable daily schedule.
• Strong decision‑making skills to maintain high‑quality care.
• Excellent active‑listening and communication abilities to engage with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Passion for working with infants and supporting caregivers.
• Open to both new graduates and experienced nurses.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment of infants and young children.
• Knowledge of pediatric health and growth monitoring.
• Experience with home‑visit nursing in a community setting.
