Registered Nurse – Avonhead Village

About the role

Summerset is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the care team at its Avonhead Village. The role involves delivering high-quality aged-care nursing services and supporting residents to enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle throughout their stay.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residents’ daily clinical needs, including medication administration, wound care and end-of-life support.
• Develop, implement and review long-term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre on designated shifts, making appropriate clinical decisions.
• Provide planned nursing care in partnership with residents and families, evaluating progress and adjusting care as needed.
• Guide and support caregivers on shift, ensuring safe and effective practice.
• Build trusted relationships with residents, families and the multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Current NZ nursing registration with a practising certificate.
• Demonstrated experience in aged-care or retirement-village settings.
• Ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and show emotional resilience.
• Excellent communication and rapport-building skills with diverse individuals.
