About the role
Heritage Lifecare is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead refurbishment and capital projects across its nationwide network of aged‑care homes and villages. You will work closely with operational leaders, contractors and consultants to deliver upgrades that improve resident experience, ensure compliance and support the organisation’s long‑term asset strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, scope, budget and deliver refurbishment and capital works from initiation to handover, including resident room upgrades, common‑area renewals and clinical improvements.
- Conduct site assessments, support asset planning and prioritise projects in line with business needs.
- Manage consultants, contractors, procurement processes and oversee day‑to‑day project delivery.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, quality, risks and contractor performance, ensuring adherence to New Zealand Building Code, fire safety, accessibility and infection‑prevention standards.
- Coordinate project handovers, documentation, certifications and defect resolution.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, facilities management, construction or capital works delivery, preferably in live operational environments.
- Strong understanding of commercial building compliance and project governance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, budgets and contractors.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction, Property, Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
- Desirable experience in aged‑care, retirement living or healthcare settings and knowledge of dementia‑friendly design principles.
