Receptionist – Part-time

About the role

We are seeking a friendly, organised and customer‑focused Receptionist to join the front‑of‑house team at Southern Cross Invercargill Hospital. Working 27.5 hours per week, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, specialists and staff, helping to create a welcoming and professional experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional in‑person and telephone customer service.
• Support patient bookings, referrals and appointment scheduling.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation and patient files.
• Process accounts, invoices and general administrative paperwork.
• Assist clinical and non‑clinical teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Manage front‑desk activities and uphold a tidy reception area.

Required profile

• Previous experience in reception, administration or customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Professional, compassionate approach to service.
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to support the wider team.
• Healthcare experience is desirable but not mandatory.
