Real Estate Solicitor – Mid‑level Property Law

About the role

Simpson Grierson is seeking an intermediate property lawyer to join its national Real Estate Practice Group. You will work from either the Wellington or Auckland office, handling a variety of property and infrastructure matters for public and private sector clients across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on property development, commercial leasing, subdivisions, and the acquisition and disposal of commercial property.
• Prepare and review transactional documents, conduct legal research, and draft opinions.
• Support senior partners on complex infrastructure projects and contribute to client strategy.
• Mentor junior solicitors and help develop a collaborative team environment.

Required profile

• 3+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in property law, either from private practice or in‑house.
• Bright, proactive, commercially minded and able to manage a busy workload.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
