Rapid Recovery Vehicle Technician (Wellington)

About the role

As a Rapid Recovery Vehicle (RRV) Technician you will provide expert roadside assistance to AA members across Wellington, diagnosing vehicle faults, towing vehicles that cannot be moved, and ensuring a safe and reassuring experience for members.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle faults and recommend the best solution on the spot.
• Operate the Rapid Recovery Vehicle to safely tow immobilised vehicles.
• Conduct accurate pre‑ and post‑tow inspections and secure vehicles to best‑practice safety standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, keeping members informed throughout the assistance.
• Promote AA products and services where appropriate.
• Use AA tablets and systems to record job information, process payments and complete documentation.

Required profile

• Approved automotive trade qualification with solid experience in vehicle fault diagnosis and repair.
• Full Class 1 driver licence (Class 2 and NZTA V endorsement desirable).
• Confidence using Microsoft Office, tablets and in‑vehicle technology.
• Commitment to quality customer service and ability to build rapport quickly.
• Physical fitness to lift up to 30 kg and a clean, safe driving record.
