About the role
Join Awanui Group as a Quality & Safety Manager – Compliance and lead the strategic direction of regional laboratory operations. You will be responsible for embedding world‑class quality and health & safety systems across a network of pathology labs, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and maintain Quality and Health & Safety management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 15189, ISO 45001 and the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015).
- Oversee internal and external audits, KPI reporting, regulatory compliance and incident escalation.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve Quality Management and Health & Safety plans.
- Manage external Quality Assurance programmes, customer surveys, complaints, investigations and risk mitigation activities.
- Chair and contribute to national Quality and Health & Safety forums and meetings.
- Maintain documentation, training records and equipment calibration to support operational excellence.
Required profile
- Significant experience in senior laboratory roles or as a technical escalation point.
- Proven track record managing Quality (ISO 15189/AS‑NZS) and Health & Safety (ISO 45001) systems in New Zealand.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, analysers and health & safety practices.
- Experience with auditing processes and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
