Quality Assessor – Food Production

About the role

As a Quality Assessor at Silver Fern Farms’ Pacific site in Hastings, you will help maintain the highest standards of product quality and regulatory compliance for both primary and secondary butchery operations. Working on the day shift, you will support production teams by implementing and monitoring quality systems that meet customer and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out quality inspections and audits to verify compliance with customer, regulatory and company standards.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of quality systems across production areas.
• Monitor and report on product and process performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with Production and Technical teams to ensure consistent application of quality procedures.
• Provide feedback, coaching and support to promote a quality‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Process Control, preferably within food manufacturing.
• Qualification in Biological Science or Food Technology (advantage).
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and ability to balance production and quality needs.
• Confidence using data and systems to inform decisions.
