About the role
We are looking for a QA/QC Specialist to join Waikato Milking Systems in Horotiu. The role will drive quality performance, embed best‑practice processes and ensure every product meets our high standards of reliability and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, support certification audits and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and industry requirements.
- Inspect raw materials, in‑process items and finished goods; manage sampling plans, testing methods and calibration.
- Work closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to resolve quality issues in real time.
- Evaluate suppliers, perform audits, monitor performance and lead resolution of supplier‑related quality problems.
- Maintain SOPs, work instructions and quality documentation; track non‑conformances, corrective actions and performance metrics.
- Lead root‑cause analysis, CAPA activities and investigation of customer complaints.
- Support Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen initiatives and use data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote health, safety and environmental best practices within quality processes.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in quality, engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a quality‑focused role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with confidence in using data to make decisions.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building and influencing abilities.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive, solutions‑oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Team player who builds positive relationships across the business.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.

- Permanent full‑time position (37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday).
