Purchasing Team Lead – Auckland

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Purchasing Team Lead to head our purchasing function in Auckland. Reporting to the Head of Logistics, you will manage end‑to‑end sourcing for both production and new programme activities on a fixed‑term basis until December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Optimize inventory levels and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure uninterrupted supply to production while maintaining quality standards.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of purchasing professionals.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage risks and maintain accurate master data in SAP.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Logistics, Quality and Global Purchasing teams.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives across purchasing processes.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Materials Planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop high‑performing teams.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or a related field (highly regarded).
