Property Consultant

About the role

WSP New Zealand is seeking a Property Consultant to join its South Island regional team. The role involves supporting acquisition, disposal and legalisation projects across Nelson, Blenheim, Greymouth, Dunedin or Invercargill, delivering high‑quality outcomes for public and private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with property acquisition, disposal and legalisation projects.
• Provide valuation and property law advice to clients.
• Collaborate with the wider WSP Property team and regional stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for property transactions.
• Engage with property owners, government agencies and other professionals.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in property, law or a related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in property, valuation or legal disciplines.
• Familiarity with the Public Works Act, Local Government Act, Reserves Act or similar legislation is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, time‑management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a regional team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of property legislation (Public Works Act, Local Government Act, Reserves Act).
• Experience dealing with property owners and professionals.
• Report writing and analytical skills.
