Project Manager - Water Treatment Control Systems

About the role

Tiaki Wai is seeking a Project Manager to join its Treatment and Control Systems team in Petone. You will lead minor capital projects across our water treatment plants and act as the primary operational interface for medium‑to‑high complexity initiatives, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery of reliable water services.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with plant operators, vendors and stakeholders to minimise operational impacts and oversee site commissioning.
• Plan, assess and schedule project activities to meet realistic timelines.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule and risks to achieve operational excellence.
• Support engineering and design from concept through handover, including documentation and maintenance assessments.
• Promote safe work practices and environmental protection throughout all project phases.
• Assist with programme planning, procurement and vendor relationship management.

Required profile

• A relevant engineering qualification (e.g., diploma) and a current NZ driver’s licence.
• Experience managing projects with a solid understanding of project management principles.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes or extensive experience in a similar environment.
• Strong stakeholder communication and vendor management abilities.
