Project Manager – Transport Projects

About the role

Stantec’s Transport team in Hamilton is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of diverse transport projects, including highways, local roads and infrastructure upgrades, supporting regional growth and community connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project planning, set‑up and execution, managing resources, finances, quality and risk.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet client requirements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with clear communication.
• Support business development through proposals and client engagement.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants and subcontractors.
• Monitor financial performance, reporting, invoicing and risk mitigation.
• Promote HSSE compliance and a strong safety culture.
• Mentor and develop team members to achieve high performance.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience in consulting or infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Required skills

• Project scheduling and budgeting expertise.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) – beneficial.
