Project Manager – Te Au Reka Programme

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Ministry of Justice on a two‑year fixed‑term contract, supporting the Te Au Reka programme – a major transformation of New Zealand’s courts. The role sits within the Change and Engagement team and focuses on organisational readiness, learning and development, and delivery of project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide project management and coordination for change, engagement and learning initiatives.
• Collaborate with fellow Project Managers to align programme planning, scheduling and delivery.
• Work closely with Change and Engagement specialists, business stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Manage project budgets, risks and issues, escalating where necessary.
• Represent the workstream in governance and stakeholder forums.
• Produce clear, timely reporting and build trusted relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Proven project‑management experience in large, complex organisations, preferably in an Agile environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes on time and within budget.
• Experience working collaboratively in multi‑project or programme settings and driving business and digital change.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external partners.
