Project Manager / Senior Project Manager – Data Centres

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead complex data centre projects. You will act as the primary client interface, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex data centre projects and programmes, serving as the key client liaison.
• Develop strong working relationships, solve problems, and drive projects to successful completion.
• Manage the design process to meet client requirements and expectations.
• Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and cost‑saving measures; identify discrepancies and potential construction issues.
• Oversee project safety, environmental compliance, timelines, risks, and reporting.
• Control project budgets and advise on options to keep costs on track.
• Support marketing and business development initiatives.
• Coordinate vendor scope with overall project delivery.
• Draft and manage contract documents in line with approved legal templates.

Required profile

• Technical understanding of data centre infrastructure – HVAC, electrical, generators, fire, security and BMS.
• Professional or tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or construction.
• 5–10 years of project management experience, preferably in data centres or similar technical environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the full project life‑cycle from inception to post‑project review.
• Strong ability to thrive in high‑pressure, fast‑paced settings.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong report and bid writing skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Primavera scheduling software (highly regarded).
• Data centre infrastructure knowledge (HVAC, electrical, generators, fire, security, BMS).
