Project Manager – Major Electrical Works

About the role

Northpower is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of major capital and zone substation projects. You will ensure projects meet customer requirements safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale electrical distribution projects.
• Lead scheduling, resourcing, and budgeting to achieve project outcomes.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and field crews for effective execution.
• Monitor financials, forecasting, work‑in‑progress, and reporting.
• Oversee safety, compliance, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives.

Required profile

• PMP certification (essential) with 5+ years of project management experience in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Demonstrated success delivering major electrical infrastructure projects.
• Full NZ Class 1 driver’s licence.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Project skills (scheduling, baselining, resource planning, critical path analysis, forecasting).
