Project Human Resources Manager – Infrastructure

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a hands‑on Project Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function on a large‑scale infrastructure programme in Auckland. You will be embedded in the project team, providing real‑time HR support to frontline leaders and a diverse, international workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and actively deliver day‑to‑day HR operations across a large project workforce.
• Provide practical HR advice and support to site leaders and project managers.
• Manage complex employee‑relations and industrial‑relations issues.
• Oversee high‑volume recruitment, onboarding, and workforce mobilisation.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies, processes and compliance with NZ employment law.
• Support workforce planning and resourcing in a dynamic environment.
• Drive engagement, performance management and productivity.
• Lead, coach and develop a small HR team of four direct reports.

Required profile

• Experienced HR leader comfortable working closely with operational teams in complex environments.
• Strong background in operational HR roles within large, complex organisations or projects.
• Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, engineering or similar project environments.
• Proven ability to manage high‑volume, fast‑paced HR activity.
• Experience working with international and highly diverse teams.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment law and industrial relations.
• Experience managing high‑volume recruitment, onboarding and workforce mobilisation.
• Ability to handle complex employee‑relations and industrial‑relations issues.
