Project Director – Major Civil Infrastructure Tender

About the role

ConsultANZ is looking for an experienced Project Director to lead the tender for a major civil infrastructure project in New Zealand. This senior leadership position will guide the bid from planning through award and support delivery after contract signing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the tender and bid process for a large infrastructure project.
• Manage planning, commercial, and technical aspects of the bid.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate the project team throughout the tender phase.
• Identify project risks and develop practical mitigation solutions.
• Support the project through to delivery after contract award.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 15+ years delivering major civil infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience as a Project Director, Senior Project Manager, or similar role.
• Proven track record leading large project bids or tenders.
• Strong background in earthworks, roading, and concrete projects; wind‑farm experience is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial skills.
