Project Director – Major Civil Infrastructure Tender

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Director to lead the tender for a major civil infrastructure project in New Zealand. This senior leadership position will guide the bid from planning through award and into project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the tender and bid process for a large infrastructure project.
• Manage planning, commercial, and technical aspects of the bid.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate and lead the project team throughout the tender phase.
• Identify project risks and develop practical mitigation solutions.
• Support the project through to delivery after contract award.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience as a Project Director, Senior Project Manager, or similar role.
• Proven experience leading large project bids or tenders.
• Strong background in earthworks, roading, and concrete projects.
• Wind‑farm project experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial skills.
