Programme Manager – After‑School Programs

About the role
Join sKids as a Programme Manager and be the friendly face that creates memorable mornings and afternoons for children in Westmere. You’ll work a minimum of 15 hours per week, primarily on afternoons and during school holidays, delivering a variety of fun, educational activities.
Key responsibilities
- Take full ownership of daily programme operations, from set‑up through pack‑down.
- Lead and manage large groups of children, ensuring a safe, inclusive and engaging environment.
- Plan and deliver structured activities such as arts & crafts, sports, games, off‑site trips, baking, drama and music.
- Proactively manage challenging behaviour using positive guidance strategies.
- Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers and school staff as the primary onsite contact.
- Coach, delegate to and support Programme Assistants to maintain high standards and accountability.
- Prepare resources and set clear expectations for each session to ensure smooth delivery.
Required profile
- Legal right to work in New Zealand (visa or citizenship).
- Reliable transport to reach Westmere/Central Auckland sites.
- Proven leadership experience working with groups of children (e.g., teaching, coaching, childcare, camps).
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and high‑energy environments.
- Experience taking ownership of programmes, teams or operations.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with parents, schools and team members.
